A fire that heavily damaged a Belhaven church Sunday night has been ruled an arson.
The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) were called in to help investigate
the suspicious fire at Mount Olive Pentecostal Faith Church.
Belhaven police now say the fire was set. Investigators are following up on leads and urge anyone with information on the
fire to contact Belhaven police, the SBI or Beaufort County Crimestoppers.
Anyone with information about the fire may contact the Belhaven Police Department at 252-943-2242 or Beaufort County Crime
Stoppers at 252-974-6400. Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Callers may
remain anonymous.
